St Peters Square 1959

Italy is starting to do well after the bad years of the war.
There are still a great number of people living in poverty, but there are also an increasing number of people with a little more money to spare.

Rome is as beautiful as ever and is filled with a sense of vibrancy and excitement.

The Via Vittorio Veneto

The Via Veneto has become the 'place to be' for glamourous and intriguing film and media stars.

They come here to drink coffee and wine until the small hours of the morning.

They come here to be seen.

All the time the paparrazzi try to get photographs for the next big story, the next big scandal.
Strange and exotic cars zoom up and down the street.

A film crew are driving along behind a couple in a huge American car. A beautiful yet very worried looking young woman is driving, paparrazzi flock around the car.

What can all this be about?
